With the generous support of thousands
of volunteers, Venice
Family Clinic has become the largest free health
care clinic in the United States, serving roughly 22,000 low-income
men, women, and children with seven locations in West Los Angeles.
Since nearly
70% of the Clinic’s patients live below the poverty line,
thousands of individuals depend on the Clinic for a wide range
of health care services, including primary health care, pediatric
care, and
HIV/AIDS
prevention,
testing,
and
treatment.
For its history of philanthropic work within the community,
Venice Family Clinic has received several national accolades,
including the 2005 Foster G. McGaw Prize for excellence in Community
Service, the President’s Volunteer Action Award, and the Pew
Primary Care Achievement Award. |
